My dad was telling me about a movie he saw, a sort of cult classic,
older movie. He says it starts like a war movie, probably WW1 or WW2,
and you have a group of soldiers (maybe German, but maybe not) in the
trenches, and they are digging for some reason, and they find a cave,
and the way my dad describes it, it would be massive; upon discovering
the cave, the camera just pulls back further and further and further,
and their light just gets smaller and smaller and smaller amid all
this blackness. And inside there is some sort of demon or devil or
something inside. That, unfortunately, is all he remembers, but he is
almost positive that the name of it was "The ______," and he says that
the second word is like "Cave" or "Grotto" or "Pit" or some other
synonym for "big underground place." But again, he isn't a hundred
percent on this. It reminded me a lot of the "Impossible Planet/Satan
Pit" Dr. Who episodes though, and sounds fairly interesting. I've
tried google, friends, family, everyone, and I have had no luck.
